COST - CONSULTATION AND PROCEDURE $730 (Lactation $420, Frenotomy $310) Each consultation will include taking a history, oral examination of baby, observing a breastfeed, action to improve the feeding without frenotomy. If frenotomy can be determined to improve the feeding, it can be done in the 90 minutes with parental consent. Strategies will be offered to improve feeding whether a frenotomy is done or not. Parents need information to make an informed decision for treatment. If a frenotomy is performed by the doctor a follow-up appointment with him is needed 4 to 6 weeks post procedure. This can be done by teleheath for clients outside of Sydney. The frenotomy procedure cost of $310 will not be charged unless it is done.

Premier Lactation respects your informed decision to breastfeed and recognises the mother as the expert. We see all babies, regardless of feeding method. Frenotomy can be performed on babies up to 12 months of age if an indication to treat is present after thorough examination, observation and evaluation of history.
